Hey, I’m Pema.
For years I have lived in monasteries and retreat centers, doing solitary and wandering retreats and training under Buddhist masters and yogis—but for me I’ve found that the real work happens in the middle of it all, real life.
I actually love practicing as a layperson. I think the path isn't about escaping life; it's about staying awake through all of it: work, sex, money, and the rest. My yogic journey started while I was still a professional DJ and led to Tibetan temples and long retreats—a transition that taught me how to find stillness without having to check out of life.
Since 2014 I dedicate myself to teach meditation and breathwork as a way to become truly familiar with your own mind. I share these practices through retreats and online classes, offering a simple, direct path to your innermost awareness. No spiritual pretense—just steady practice to help you discover greater ease and clarity in your life.
My Approach
Learning Through Practice
In Tibetan, the word for meditation is Gom, which simply means “to become familiar.” Rather than chasing a "special" state or trying to silence the world, the path is about gradually becoming familiar with your mind just as it is. Through patience and steady practice, we learn how to let the mind rest in its own natural awareness and familiarize ourselves with its true nature.
The teachings I share are grounded in the Shamatha and Vipassana instructions of the great Dzogchen master Dudjom Rinpoche. We begin with Shamatha, cultivating stability and presence through the breath. Once we have that foundation, we move into Vipassana (or Lhagtong), an analytical practice where true insight begins to arise.
In this way, meditation isn't a chore or a mystery—it’s a gradual path of discovery. As you become more familiar with the landscape of your own mind, its natural clarity, openness, and ease begin to reveal themselves and liberate you.
